Global Warming: Beyond The Tipping Point

Climatologist James Hansen of the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies warns that today's carbon dioxide levels are already dangerously high.

He argues that that we need to stabilize CO2 at current levels or below. This could be achieved by:

  • cutting off emissions from coal entirely by 2030
  • stop deforestation and re-grow forests
  • use biochar and replace slash-and-burn with slash-and-char
